The third annual Japanese Classic Car Show Comes to Long Beach, California, on Saturday, October 6!
The show debuted three years ago as the first U.S. classic car show devoted strictly to vintage Hondas, Toyotas, Nissan/Datsun, Prince, and other pre-1985 makes. Since then, Japanese Classics have emerged as a growing field in collector cars. Japan-built, compact cars were first imported to the U.S. in large numbers during the fuel-conscious early 70s, but if you were around before then you remember what a cool oddity it was to see a 1960s Honda Sports Coupe or a Toyota micro-wagon on the streets next to a behemoth American luxury car!
Of course history repeats itself, and lately you might have noticed design elements from some of these classic compacts echoed in the new crop of fuel efficient models from both Japan and the U.S.
